The Breakdown

I certainly enjoyed my experience at Laziza Mediterranean Grill. Since this was my first time going, I didn’t have many expectations. I went to the Downtown Augusta location that opened a few months ago. The food was great and the cashier was helpful in guiding me since I’m not too familiar with Mediterranean food. I ordered a gyro with fries. I was impressed how fast our order was served and that they are structured not only for dine-in orders, but also take out. They had a grab and go section for food which is perfect if you didn’t want to spend time waiting on your food to be prepared. This is definitely a place where you can come spend time inside with friends or drop by to pick up something for lunch during the work week. If you’re looking to try something a little different, I’d definitely recommend. I loved the design and location of Laziza. The color scheme and decor make me feel warm and welcome. I look forward to going back to take some photos with the new James Brown mural that’s right across the street.

How to get 5 stars

I think it would help newcomers if they had photos of their food on the menu. I had a difficult time visualizing what I was ordering until the cashier broke it down for me. I also wish they had a few more booths. They have a bunch of open seating, but if I wanted a tad more privacy or discretion with my conversation with friends, this place wouldn’t be on the top of my list. Maybe that’s because I’m rather reserved, but I noticed this as soon as I walked in.

P.S: Although I didn’t get the chance to try any, they serve wine! I look forward to going back to try some with a dessert or two.

Where should I go next?
