The Breakdown

I was incredibly impressed with Salt + Marrow. It’s located inside the Crowne Plaza at SRP Park in North Augusta. I’ve walked past it plenty of times, but I finally thought it was time for a visit. This was my first time dining there so I didn’t have many expectations, but all I can say is “Wow!” Due to COVID, we decided to make reservations and based on that, I knew we were going to have a fine dining experience. We were greeted and seated quickly, and the server was super courteous and friendly. The menu was also pretty extravagant. This was my first time ever seeing kangaroo offered as a special. I wish I had a more adventurous appetite. I ordered meatballs for an appetizer and they were so tasty. It came with a bread roll and they were covered with tomato sauce and cheese. These were devoured quickly. I would go back and order these again by themselves. For dinner, I ordered the chicken pasta and it was delicious. Noodles were perfect and the chicken was seasoned to perfection. I don’t remember the exact name of the drink I ordered, but it was summer-themed and packed a big punch. Overall, the food and service were great and I will be returning.

What to expect

I will give you a heads up that this place was not cheap. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny for the experience, but I guarantee that it’s worth it. Since I consider this fine dining, this will be an excellent restaurant for a special occasion or an impressive date night. Another benefit is that it wasn’t busy at all. I’m not sure if this is due to the pandemic, but I was satisfied not having to eat in a packed restaurant. I hope this review convinces you to give it a try. It gets a huge chef’s kiss from me.

Where should I go next?
