Shelia’s Baking Co. is a bakery in North Augusta that serves pastries and doughnuts. They also have a food truck in Evans. To make it even sweeter for me, the treats are also available at Edgar’s Above Broad, which is the perfect walking distance for me to get my sweet fix for the week.
The Breakdown
Since they offer them at Edgar’s, it’s easy to see what they have in the pastry dish and pick out whichever treat is calling your name. I’ve had them a couple of times. Each doughnut and party was better than the last. The right was the cinnamon roll. It was perfect. Like a little piece of heaven in my mouth. Then I had to try the classic chocolate-covered doughnut with sprinkles. Since then, I’ve had the blueberry icing doughnut and the strawberry. They were all delicious. Definitely sweet, but the doughnut was the perfect texture each time. The service at Edgar’s can be a hit or miss sometimes because in the mornings it’s rather slow so the server may be preoccupied in the back so you’ll have to wait a minute to be served. Shelia’s was worth it every time if I had to wait.
How to get 5 stars
I wasn’t too harsh on the review because I haven’t been to the storefront or the food truck. The storefront is still relatively new, but I haven’t had the time to hop over the river to see it for myself. And for those that know me, driving to Evans is a little too far for me. I hope the storefront is just as amazing as Edgar’s, but I’m not sure if I'll make a trip over there soon since this one is so close by and convenient. There are some other pastries that I’ve been craving from them so we’ll have to wait and see.
Where should I go next?
