Vance’s Bakery Bar was bussin’

Vance's Bakery Bar is a 21-and-over, mid-century modern bakery and cocktail lounge in downtown Augusta. Not only do they serve drinks, but their treats are “boozy.”

The Breakdown

Vance’s is simply amazing. I loved their sweets the first time I tried them when they did a pop-up shop. This is not my first, second or third time trying them, and each time they have not disappointed me. First, the vibes of the lounge are amazing. I love a place with a theme and they really did a great job with the decor and setting the vibe. I usually pop in during lunchtime so it’s slow and I can get my treats and be on my way. My go-to order is the 2nd City Cookie. It’s a chocolate chip cookie with pecans and bourbon. They also have some salt on top which makes the flavor just melt in your mouth.

I also love their oatmeal cream pie. The cream in the middle makes this cookie sandwich super sweet and feels good to eat. I would not recommend trying too many things at once or you might have a sugar coma (haha). The margarita cupcake is also worth mentioning. The explanation is in the name. If you’re not a fan of alcohol, don’t worry. The alcohol doesn’t overpower the flavor. The service is always friendly and I like chatting with the bartender until my order arrives.

How to KEEP 5 stars

I would love to see more treats added to their menu over time. Maybe a special Augusta University treat? I noticed that a lot of their menu items have a connection to the city of Augusta, maybe this could be something they could do easily. I also think a rewards program would be nice since I'm a frequent customer.

Where should I go next?
